Question Windows update stopped my 8k resolution from working?

Hi team

I have a Samsung 8k Q900, it is connected to an HDMI 2.1 directly to my Nvidia GeForce 2080Ti

Took me a bit in the beginning to learn how to force Windows 10 x64 through my Nvidia control panel to 7680x3240 but got it working when I remembered it needed to run at 30 Hz

So lovely Windows update (Thanks again Windows) anything over 4k just gives me a black screen or my screen says no source found. I'm having to pull the plug on my machine to force it into booting in safe mode to get the screen on again at lower resolutions.

I have tried a few things, all the same result

I would really appreciate some of your expert guidance

Maybe the update replaced your video driver go get the video drivers from Nvidia

I had the latest driver already but forced a new clean install

When you get in such troubles there is no need to clean install at the first attempt. you can go to installed update list and sort by date to find the patches and updates applied and remove the correct one and restart to check it fixes. if this does not work you can then fresh new clean install.
