Windows Update won't download updates? Error: 0x80070057

I've been noticing on my computer when windows tries to update it never actually does download anything. I ran the Windows Update Diagnostic tool and got an error. I'm Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I did recently clean a few infected files from my computer so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it.

I got this error: Windows Update Error: 0x80070057

Any help is appreciated.

Click Start and type regedit and press the Enter button.
Navigate to HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
Delete all values with this 0x80070057. Then run the the following fix it tool.

Reboot the computer and verify that the problem has been resolved.

Prior to coming here i tried a few things I saw online and that must of been one of them. That folder is not listed under HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate. I also tried to use the Windows Repair 3.9.9 Download and that did not work either.
