I have been a geek for many years and the following has always puzzled me , i switch on any of my pc's and then click on windows updates , when the page opens it always says last checked on ........
That's the bit that puzzles me , it always says last checked at a time when none of my pc's were even turned on , how is that possible.

When several pcs are connected to a same wifi network, the pc always checks for new updates from other pcs the feature is called delivery optimization.

Windows is set up to do updates at off hours where you don't use your PC, when it shows you the last time it's the last time it was scheduled to do it which will always be at a time you don't use your PC.

WU only works manually. I ran SFC and WU trouble shooter. My times are set not to interfere.
I noticed windows trouble shooter finds problem with Window repair and changes it.
Unless I click to manually update it does not update but manually never fails.
