Windows vista cant access my external usb drive

I have a maxtor 250GB external hard drive that cannot be accessed by vista... Was working just fine until about a week ago and then nothing... the only changes I'm aware of have been the download of Norton 360.... is it possible this is blocking the drive from being read in some way? Please help!

Have a look in device manager & event viewer for errors.
Switch USB port.
What shows for the device in disk management ?
Other USB devices working ok ?
