My computer crashed, the error I got was Windows updates were not installed correctly, reverting changes. It would reboot and cycle over and over. I've reinstalled vista home premium on my 2nd drive but the key I have is for home basic. I do not have a home basic cd, the tower only came with the label. Is there any way around this?

even though it requires piracy you could use an activator for windows vista.

Tom's Hardware forums do not support any form of software piracy. To use Windows (any version), you must purchase a license. There is no free version.

If you can't afford Windows, then consider using one of the many free Linux distros that are readily available.
