Windows vista internet explorer hanging

Windows Vista. Internet explorer will begin loading the page...and then hang. I have opened task manager to see what may be the culprit. It looks as if explorer is maybe the culprit. But the strange thing is, when I flip to the task manager window, the page will complete immediately. It is repeatable. Every time it hangs, and every time you switch to another window, it completes.

Is it always the same site, or different sites ?

Same site, could be compatibility issue with the site, and IE9 if that is what you are using.
