HELP! Windows Vista laptop no longer detects wireless after installing/uninstalling freeware from CNET! No longer finds internet connection - even after restoring system, rebooting, and manually turning it back on! Program (to print checks/register) will not completely uninstall or allow itself to be deleted.

Solution
Should be virus, I think. Get Antivirus software to find out where the mole is.

If your laptop couldn't boot normally, use safe mode and get the anti-virus working.

Don't trust freeware unless it is certified and double-check the install program with anti-virus software to make sure it's safe. There aren't too many free lunches in the world

I actually thought it would be safe because we have Norton360 installed and it verified that the download was "safe" ;-\

The product was ezcheckprinting software. Downloaded (and could still get on the Internet), but after download, it had other "requirements", so I decided instead to just uninstall... THAT'S when the problems began
