Hi,

I just built a system using Asus K8N-E Deluxe and Windows XP Pro with SP2.
I am using the onboard sound card.
Everything works well except that the Windows volume control does not work
for the CD Player or Aux (2nd optical drive). I think it won't work for the
Line In either.

The main volume, wave, and seperate front, rear volume sliders all do work.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks, John

John,
Have you installed the ALC850 software for the onboard audio system?
The AVRack should create a set of controls to use instead of the Windows
one!

Thanks for the reply Rob. I do have the ALC850 software installed. The
AVRack only has a cheesy
WAV player/recorder from what I can tell. It has an equalizer but no mixer.
The Sound Effect Manager
that I access from control panel has some better stuff but no mixer for the
device volumes, that is still
done by Windows.

Do you get any sound from those sources? If not, it could be that you
haven't connected the audio-cable from the drives to the sound card
properly...
