Hello. This is a very difficult topic to categorize so hopefully someone who can help me will see this. I have a sennheiser GSX 1000 and use to use it as my default sound device. Recently i purchased a sound card and now have no need for the GSX 1000. What i want to do is just use the GSX 1000 as a volume knob. The problem is that once i set the sound card as my default audio device and try to use the GSX 1000 to change the volume it doesn't work well. When trying to lower or higher the volume it skips and will eventually just move it to 0%. If the GSX is set as the default device the volume knob works perfectly. it just does not when the sound card is the default audio device. Is there a setting i have to change in windows to get this to work as id like? or is this something is have to get through a 3rd party software?

Is there software that can turn it into an analog volume knob? Soundblaster ae5 was the replacement. Sounds much better and can drive my sennheiser better.
