Windows VPN from school blocked?

Hi. I have managed to set up a standard VPN host on my computer at home. I have tested it from other networks and it is fully functioning. However, when I try to connect to my host from school, I get errors (like 800, 807).
The reason why I wanted to host my own VPN was because software like Spotflux (which by the way works on the school's network) is very slow.
Does anyone know why I can't connect to my VPN from my school's network? And is there a way to make it work (like the software)?

You are likely using pptp which is based on GRE protocol to function. The school likely has disabled this feature or they are using it for their own vpn. You need to use a vpn based on SSL

You need to address this issue with the school IT administrators. We can't help you bypass their security configuration. To do so is a violation of site rules.
