Hey guys,
So I've been tackling certain issues with my PC ever since I moved from my Gigabyte mobo to my Asus Z87-PRO.
I had some random hardware blues screens ("LiveKernelEvent" and "USBHUB3_DEVICE_ENUMERATION_FAILURE" and Driver issues). All these problems I believe to be resolved but who knows... (eg. updated graphic drivers, found USB problem devices, etc.)
On my last mobo i had like two bluescreens in maybe around 3 years? so this was a bit of a shock to the system.
Everything else works fine. Done RAM checks: No problems. Done SFC checks; no problems. Done harddrive tests: No problems. Everything seems to be working nicely. Done Prime95 tests; no problems.
I've also turned off fast-boot which many say is a problem. Still says it.
I did go a week without any problems before it decided to bluescreens moments after telling my other-half "I'm very happy this has stopped having problems". It was a LiveKernelEvent. I downloaded some software that completely uninstalled my graphics drivers and did a fresh install of Nvidia drivers. Now, after no issues for a week; "windows did not shut down correctly" keeps popping its face up on reliability monitor.
The thing is that these issues are so random its hard to trouble shoot. Last time i had a BSOD, it was when I was on Winamp (audio management software), had a USB interface plugged in (Focusrite 2i2), and just connected some USB headphones. I wonder if that confliction is what confused my computer? Otherwise, the fact the system is deemed to not be shutting down correctly makes me anxious that I'm not yet out of the blue (pun intended).
Bios has been reset multiple times.
End of the day, i don't want to reinstall my OS but it feels like I have to. Otherwise, I fear its my mobo.
My system specs are as follows:
OS: Windows 10 education 64 bit.
i5 4670K @ 3.8
MSI GTX970
Asus Z87-PRO
BeQuite 630w (silent power)
Hyper Evo 212 cooler
Drives: 240gb SSD, 1tb HDD, 500GB HDD
Blurway LG Optical Drive
Other interfaces: USB Headset, Focusrite 2i2 USB Audio Interface
Any help would be amazing. I just want my computer to be well again.
It's also worth noting that I did download a naughty ISO which gave me a virus early after installing (because I'm an idiot). I've never been so reckless before but I did. I quarantined it, deleted it, and there's no trace of it left. I do wonder if that has anything to do with it, but pretty sure its long gone (Oh, it was that SafeSearch virus. Oops!)
Cheers,
Josh
