How does one force their computer to install the software they downloaded? It has no .exe I did this for mywireless and it installed but now that I got the ethernet drivers its saying the thing I downloaded isn't a driver.

If a driver contains an .inf file and no .exe setup file, you should be able to right-click the .inf file and choose Install from the context-menu.

Otherwise, install the driver through Device Manager: http://www.rm.com/support/technicalarticle.asp?cref=tec6643

If your PC is factory-built (or if it's a laptop) you should only download internal hardware drivers from the PC/laptop makers website (HP in your case), not from anywhere else.

Problem is it doesn't recognize my PC as HP and they ONLY have windows 8 drivers for my PC :| (Which won't work because they're windows 8... i guess? The installer says that not me)
Also I installed my wireless adapter drivers that way so....

:|... I had no choice. I downloaded windows 10 for fun on a sepparate hardrive it worked fine then it "repaired" my windows 8 and I couldn't fix it even with a windows 8 CD and didn't know the CD key. I got windows 7 because my friend had a disc etc.

Also doesn't matter so long as I got all my drivers working fine. I have 0 errors now and everything is working perfectly fine. Also I got a 20-30 fps boost in Minecraft from this.
