Windows will not start

Hello,
I recently formatted my acer laptop, now I used the recovery CD to re-install windows 7, I installed two times, both went smoothly. However, when I try to boot from hard drive, it will not start. Please help!

Most drives that are pre installed with an OS are partitioned, normal in two or three, example c: Primary- os install d: Recovery partition e: windows setup.
Did you in fact delete all of the partitions,change the max size of the drive, then format the drive?
As I say one of the partitions points to the recovery file that is stored in one of the extra partitions created on the HD.
The recovery cd just tells it where it is, as it is compressed finds it then unpacks it to install.
You can imagine the result.

Check that you are not trying to boot from cd/usb to start with, otherwise you wont be going anywhere. Check this in your Bios under boot config.

how far along does booting go from pushing the power button to nothing? and does it say anything before sudden death/hang?

What do u mean "...both went smoothly".

And what happened after the last restart.

No sign of an error?

Check the Event viewer for error log.

By that you mean the point at which its supposed to show the windows splash screen it reboots
and does that in cycles?
