hey there guys, i've just bought a new pc, and after installing the newest driver,
my pc just wont go into windows, its on like a gray screen with a dot in the middle, wont do anything else.
i've updated the bios, tried installing only the driver and downloading and installing it through Gefore Experience.
I have no idea what to do, this only happens after i install the driver, then i need to format the pc clean cuz i cant do nothing.
i dont know what cable is used to connect the pc to the monitor, but im certain its not hdmi.
my pc specs:
Windows 10 64 Bit operation system

Quad Core i5 4460 3.2Ghz S1150
Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H S1150 REV 2 (Bios updated)
Gigabyte GTX970 4GB WindForce3 1051Mhz 4G
8GB Kingston Hyper-X FURY DDR3 CL10 1600Mhz
SSD KINGDSTON 120GB SATA 3 V300
SEGATE 1TB
FSP HYPER 500W
ARTIC FREEZER 7 PRO

any advice? might my card be defective?

Solution
I would have to say why when windows loads after you have installed the Nvidia driver for your new GTX 970 card.
And why you see a grey screen is due to the fact that the power supply you currently have in your system is not good enough to power the system with the 970 card fitted to it.

The minimum is about a 600W power supply to run that card, along with a PSU that can provide a total of 42a from the 12v power rail of the PSU also.

FPS are i`m sorry to say a low end tier power supply.
So it`s time to upgrade in wattage, the amount of amps the Psu can output on the 12v power rail.
And buy a Psu of a good brand name.
I think you will find looking at the FSP power supply the amp rating on the 12v power rail is very low indeed if you...
Try and install an older driver, if it doesnt work instead of uninstalling windows you can just boot in safe mode and use DDU (Display Driver UNinstaller).
Could also be your PSU as its a pretty ghetto PSU, kinda cheaply made

Replace it for a better Psu.

Then your problems will be resolved Kostaking.

Solution
I know there has been a solution given in this situation but i just wanted to post this out there as I have had a nightmare with this card. So if you think your PSU is powerful enough so about 600 watt i would first of all try some of this. I tried the changing of tdrdelay which seems to work for one boot however some peopole seem to have more luck with this! I then noticed that if my HDMI is not plugged in my comp boots fine everytime! So from here i have tried different HDMI cables, worked for one boot 🙁 and then installed a driver for my TV. Now i boot everytime :S which is wiered im not sure i want to install drivers for each tv, and have not tried it with another tv but it seems to work and i don't move my PC much at all so is fine in my case.
