Hello i have an SSD and a HDD, recently my HDD had windows failures and had to buy a new one. So today i bought a 1 TB HDD (previously 500GB). Now windows no longer boots and only boots when i plug in the old HDD. What should I do so that the new one boots with the SSD. I have a Gigabyte H61M-S2V-B3 motherboard.

You'll need to install Windows on the SSD with only it in the machine, so that the install makes it the boot drive, or make certain that any other drive in the machine doesn't already have a boot partition when you run the install.

Before you reinstall the OS onto your SSD, try this...
See if the SSD is connected to the FIRST SATA port on the motherboard - that port will be designated either SATA 0 or SATA 1.
Recheck the BIOS on the next boot and confirm that the boot priority order indicates the SSD is #1.

Worth a try...
