Windows won't detect my speakers or headset

Solution
Open Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Device Manager.

Expand the tree for Sound, Video, and Game controllers.

You should have an option here that's not related to your graphics card. It might say something along the lines of High Definition Audio Device or Realtek audio. Right click on this option and select Update Driver Software. Perform a manual search by browsing to the location you extracted the files to.

Right-click on the small speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen (near the system clock) and select, "Playback Devices". One of the options there should have a green check mark identifying it as the default device. What options are listed here and which is currently set as the default?

If you do not see any devices listed here, we're going to need you to provide us with some details:

What are you system specifications?
What operating system are you running?
Is this a self-build or off-the-shelf, store bought computer?
How are you connecting the speakers/headset to the computer?

Sounds like drivers have not been installed for your motherboard's audio.

Find out which revision of the motherboard you have. The revision number will be printed in the motherboard in the corner closest to the expansion slots. In this example, you can see it states, "Rev 5.0"

Once you have the revision number for your motherboard, go here.
Click on the link for the correct revision number.
Use the "Choose Your OS" dropdown box to select which operating system you have installed.
Download and install the Audio Driver.
Test your speakers again.

Alright I did that and found the folder but when I hit next windows says I'm up to date. Was it the wrong one I don't know. So I tried the other on same thing. Plus I should have mentioned that I have no sound card.
