I had a PC with Intel D945GCNL mobo and used it with an Intel Core 2 Duo
E4600. Now I got a new processor which is Intel Pentium E5800 which is slightly better than the one which I had. When I booted the PC I got BIOS screen but when it reached the Windows logo, it got stuck. I tried to reboot and sometimes it showed Startup Repair but nothing happened. Then I tried to use linux to boot and it worked seamlessly. That's when I found out that the PC was only booting in a 32 bit OS but not on a 64 bit. The Windows I used was 64 bit, so I tried to install Windows 7 32 bit and it worked fine.
My specs
Intel D945GCNL Motherboard
Intel Pentium E5800
Windows Insider Educational Build 64 bit
Geforce GT 710
Seagate 7200.10 RPM 250 GB
