Windows won't install updates

Windows doesn't wanna install updates. I tried deleting the stuff from the downloads file in the Software distribution file. Installing them keeps failing and I am really worried and I dont know what to do. I tried restarting but nothing happens. Please help. And When it actually updates, it reaches 30% then starts. I did a restart now and some updates were successful and i still have a lot of updates to do. But it stops at 30%

1. Open up command prompt as admin
2. Run command .. net stop wuauserv
3. Delete files within c:\windows\softwaredistribution\downloads\
4. Run command .. net start wuauserv
5 Do a Windows Update.

Thanks. Almost all of them installed except 3. Do i have to do this every single time my computer needs an update?

Ok now there are 12 important updates. Why do the updates keep increasing and what should I do?

As I said, almost everything installed but why do files in the Softwaredistribution folder keep coming back?

If you missed any updates, the proceeding fixes always follow, just a safety thing.

The files remain, until you delete them, using the method above to ensure no corruption of WU.
