Hey all, just built my new pc today. Using an Intel 730 240GB SSD as boot drive and trying to use a WD Blue 7200rpm 1TB as storage. The SSD shows up fine, the WD shows up in BIOS but not in windows 7. I set it as ACHI instead of IDE, the HDD works because I can feel it spinning and BIOS recognizes it and its capacity as 1000.2GB

I uninstalled it and I noticed that in Computer/Hard Disk Drives that the Drive named System Reserved (E) disappeared, I reinstalled it and it reappeared. However, Location E is only at 99.9MB and only 76.2 is useable. I googled this and I tired what everyone else tried.

So is this drive a RMA?? Is there a fix?? Please help!

By the way, I purposefully removed all SSDs and HDDs from the pc (except the Intel SSD) that I wasnt going to use when I installed win7. How could it create its own partition on a drive that didnt exist??

The Device manager shows two drives (SSD and HDD). Supposedly both are working correctly, I've formatted the drive several times and it still shows up as System Reserved.

That 99MB is the System Reserved boot partition.
How did it end up on the HDD?

Again...a screenshot of your Disk Management windows would work here.

From your pic, I can't really tell which you are trying to 'delete'. The 101MB on Disk 0, or the System Reserved on Disk 2.
Leave the one on Disk 2 alone. That is your boot info.

Ok, just to make things clearer for myself I reinstalled win7. the os is on the SSD and so is the 100mb allocation. Fine.
I installed the 1tb HDD and it shows up in both UEFI and Disk management with the proper capacity but will not show up as a useable drive under My Computer/ Drives. Doesnt give me the option to change that in DM. Any help?
