Windows X installation errors

I declined the free "upgrade" to Windows 10 but Windows update keeps trying to install it. Now my pc constantly comes out of S3 and tries but a look in my update history has numerous entries that says Windows 10 upgrade failed to install. Is anyone else experiencing WX headaches?

That will show you how to remove the update that prompts the Windows 10 upgrade, as well as how to stop that update from being downloaded again, at least until you're ready.

Thanks for offering this advice. However, if you have updates set to automatically download and install, and that is the default and Recommended setting, KB3035583 & KB2952664 will re-install themselves even if they are hidden. I have uninstalled them 3 times. Now I have to live with updates in manual mode. By the way, GWX is buried deep in the registry and in C:\Windows like a hair in a biscuit. I had to take ownership, audit, change permissions, and delete all this garbage. Don't attempt it unless you have a backup because there are incidental string values in the registry that contain "GWX" but they are part of a Visual Basic installation. I'm ticked off at MS's attempts to install W10 b/c I declined it when it first appeared. I have 10 Failed attempts in my updates where MS has tried to install 10. My HTPC has been coming out of S3 every 30 minutes trying to install it. Anybody else PO'd?
