I have some old software at my business that will only run on windows XP. Unfortunately it won't run correctly in xp mode on windows 7. I need to build a new computer with windows XP to replace the dying one in my office. My question is what is the best/most current hardware I can use that has XP driver support from the manufacturer? If there aren't official XP drivers is there a work around? Anyone have a suggested build? Thanks for any help!

Even though most new computer's don't come with XP drivers anymore, if you find that specific hardware name you might be able to find a similar driver on the manufacturer's website.

It is somewhat a painful process though as I've done this before.

What you would want to do is find out what exactly you want - then look up those computer parts on the web to see if they have XP compatible drivers.

I know for a fact Dell OptiPlex 9010's have XP driver's as we've just deployed a whole bunch of them. Like I mentioned though you may need to do some driver hunting.

Good luck.

Hello again. I just received the optiplex 9010 and tried to install xp. I integrated the xp drivers from the dell support page using nlite into the install disc and everything seemed to work smoothly but when i boot into the OS it says insufficient resources and boot loops. What steps did you take to get it installed correctly on your systems? thanks for your help!
