Windows xp copy paste not working what is the solution?

I have tried restarting the clipbook service and also in the task manager under the processes tab but all in vain. I had not created a restore point when all function were okay and I don't have a windows XP CD. Please assist where possible!!!!

Restore points are created automatically when you boot. Take a look.

Or borrow a friend's XP Cd and run system ficle checker.
