Windows XP games

I am looking for a freeware game that runs under XP but can not run in Windows 7 or higher

Hello bimbaws, I need it for my students so they learn about innovations and the problems that can occur.By upgrading from XP to Windows 7.

Oh.. now i understand why ... but do you have to tell them about games? Can't you tell them about.. programs or utilities that doenst have support for inovated systems?

any game support DX9 will work on XP .. support 8/7 is a problem ?

Ehm no, i mean, i played some games based on DX9 on windows 7, and 8.1 too - like far cry 3 and more.. but answer to your question.. i dont know

Thank you for your suggestion but can you give me some examples, yes I would like to have an older program like GIMP or other freeware program that is not working under Windows 7 but runs under XP. But if you have other suggestions that I can use would be fine.
