Lately, my HP lap top (with Windows XP) goes into hibernate / sleep mode (monitor goes dark) only a couple of minutes after I turn the computer on. The computer stays on, but the screen goes dark. And moving the mouse doesn't bring the screen back on. I have to push down and release the little button that is pushed down when you close the lap top lid.
The screen (monitor) will come on again, but only for couple of minutes, and goes dark again. While the monitor is still on, a message pops up that says device driver is preventing "standby mode." I don't understand this message. How can I disable the hibernation mode? Will that solve this problem?
