I formatted partioned my hard drive recently because the recovery CD did not
work. When I tryed to install a fresh copy, I got a message during the end of
set up. After the set up program scanned my drives. "Make sure you are using
the correct copy, try using a different copy." Can anyone help, please.

Do I need to activate it?

Hi

Formatting the hard disk may have removed some files needed for the install
to complete. Have you tried contacting your PC/OEM supplier to see if they
can help?

Hey,

I would suggest that you reformat your machine (not a quick format, a full
format) using the WinXP CD again, and try installing WInXP again.
