Hi Everyone.

I was trying to install Windows XP (no service pack) onto my PC, but it keeps failing. I go into the bios, set the boot to the DVD drive, with the Windows XP Installation Disk in, everything goes well, but after it reboots, it never loads XP, just has a flashing underscore. I try again, and still nothing.

Here are my specs:

Core 2 Duo E6750 @2.66Ghz
Asus P5K Motherboard
2gb DDR2-800
Samsung 840 Series PRO SSD (256GB)
GeForce GTX 560ti

Solution
one solution would be this
find your local computer store. and have then install a new hard drive for you. if you want they can install xp as well .
with the new hard drive on it you can install xp from the disc.

should work fine and enter the code when asked.
usually i have found I do need a new hard drive , when doing this procedure. old hard drives get corrupted after years , so a new hdd, is good with the os

First of all clean the XP disk which you are using.
Second, if that doesn't work try usb booting by installing the .iso file of the OS on the usb drive. You can get the OS in .iso format by mild google search. Also you need a bootable disc creator software like rufus linked below:

Thankypu for getting back to me, however I found a thread with the fix for my problem. I was trying to install Windows XP onto a 320GB drive, but Windows XP Service Pack 3 was what I needed to install onto a drive larger than 138GB. Thanks anyway
