Hello,

I have a Window XP machine that I use to run retro software (that has a hard time running on newer operating systems).

The machine has not been connected to the internet for several years and has been working fine.

However a few days ago when I boot up the machine, I would suddenly get a scrambled screen and lockups

Sometimes I don't even get to login.

Sometimes the mouse freezes so I can't even login

Sometimes the monitor switches off

Does anyone know what is happening. I don't think it is a virus because the Windows XP machine has not been connected to the internet for many years and I don't copy files to this computer . So it has pretty much been isolated.

I want to try a restore point but cannot even get to that setting before the computer freezes

Please help

Been investigating and believe the fault may be the graphics card.

How do I revert to the default Windows XP internal graphics card/driver (taking into consideration current graphics card is faulty and shuts down shortly after bootup) ?

Do I also need to connect to a different port ?
