windows xp slow

Hello, i got a windows xp proffesional 1-2cpu. It's doing very slow at the moment what can i do to it so it will work faster?
It's from the year 2000, thanks allready.

download ccleaner and run the file cleaner and then the registry cleaner multiple times till it finds no errors, should help.

Sorry, you have done very well to keep a computer running for thirteen years, but there is very little you could do to speed it up that would be worth the money spent. At this point you would be well advised to start thinking about replacing the system with one that is a bit more current.

Windows XP runs faster than Windows 7 on the exact same equipment.
Win 7 needs more memory, more hard drive space, and far more CPU capacity than XP.

avira and avast are terrible for system performance, i would get rid of it and use something else like commodo or avg
