Windows XP SP3 update stuck

I am updating Windows XP SP2 to SP3. It seems the installation has stuck. Is there any way to cancel it? It is stuck at finishing installation and showing in details running processes after install.

with windows update.
The only thing you can do is press cancel and wait.
I wouldn't recommend you kill the update, as this can cause harm to windows and potentially break it.
windows XP isn't supported by Microsoft anymore, so they would suggest upgrading to a newer version of windows.

Successfully updated. I felt suspicious as it wont move from the mentioned status of installation.
