Windows XP won't connect to Ethernet

I recently restored an old dimension e510 I got for free at the computer store. The hdd was salvaged so I had to install windows Xp 32-bit (Service pack 2) back onto another hdd. I plugged the Ethernet cord in and it won't detect anything. Haven't found anything useful online yet so I am wondering wtf the problem is

this PC doesn't seem to have XP drivers...

try putting your service tag in here anyways in case im wrong
