Windows XPSP2 initial load internet connection problem

After loading Windows XP SP2, how to gain Internet access on desktop computer during configuration process?
(I have network card & cable connected via modem & router)?

You need to load the network card drivers after Windows starts, also do an upgrade to SP3.
