Windows7 sony vaio startup problem

Hello,
The vaio is brand new model pcg-41218L. Just finished 51 windows updates and when it restarted it got stuck on a background screen that just says Windows 7 Home Premium at the bottom. I keep restarting, but same results. CTL ALT DEL does nothing. Tried all the function keys. Help!!

After it first logs you in does it mention something about explorer.exe failing to launch?
