How do I read winmail.dat files on my Mac? Apple support says "... "ask the sender to format messages as plain text or HTML." Like this is a good answer!!!

My 1st response is that both Apple & Microsoft are evil game players at our expense.

I just had to do this for a client the other day. If you want to download and install a program that will help you do this but costs $30, check out Letter Opener:
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/22614/letter-opener

If you don't mind doing it online (free!) and are semi computer literate, you can use the nifty winmaildat.com website:
http://www.winmaildat.com/

Hope this helps! These get send when Outlook is poorly configured and basically this is a Microsoft issue (or rather, a system administrator issue.)
