My brother recently gave me a Samsung 840 series SSD, but all of his stuff is still on it! I would like to find out how to completely wipe the SSD, without Parted Magic. I do not have a USB or any discs that are bootable. Samsung's stuff off their website has not been able to do anything, for I am running Windows 10 and it only works without having to create a bootable USB on windows 7. Thanks!

Not sure if you want to use this method as it will require you boot a linux distribution like Ubuntu and then use hdparm app and "ATA Secure Erase" command. This command instructs the drive to flush all stored electrons, forcing the drive to “forget” all stored data, i.e. it fully resets the SSD. Just be really careful as this is a powerful tool and can have disastrous effects if not used correctly.

If you would like to do this you can find instructions here: https://ata.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/ATA_Secure_Erase
