Wiping hard drive on HP laptop

After creating partition and transfering to usb, after diskpart after selecting disk 0 after clean, after laptop responds "succeeded in cleaning the disk and after typing "clean all"
Since this step takes several hours, how do I know it is executing the command?

It takes several hours to complete and the HDD activity led should be flashing very rapidly or on solid.
