wire on headphones twisted and sound really quiet and distorted

So. i got back from school and my headphones dont seem to be working anymore, I've tried doing everything but i come to no solution, Please help!

You said the wire is twisted? Nothing you can do there aside from take them apart, and fix the wire or replace them.
