Hi it's been the second day since my desktop can't connect to the internet through wired connection. All these while I had my desktop connect directly to my router. My desktop shows: "Local area connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration." I have tried many ways to get it working but to no avail. Here is a list of what i have tried doing:
- Reset modem and router
- restart my computer
- Used Google DNS
- Manually typed in IP address
- reset ipv4 and ipv6 through command prompt
- Used different cable and a laptop (same problem can't connect through wired)
- Disable ipv6
- Tried different ports on the router
I am beginning to wonder if it's my router fault. I can't confirm though. Anyone has any idea how to fix this problem? I am running on windows 7 64 bit and using starhub infinity. The router brand is Huawei which starhub provides.
