[SOLVED] Wired connection worse than wireless

just had my virgin media upgraded to a bigger package 500 mbps my phone on wireless connection get 200+ mbps but my computer that is connect via Ethernet only gets 5 mbps i've tried different cables and its all the same someone please help.

Try updating the LAN drivers for your motherboard (get them directly from the manufacturers website).

ok just updated the drivers still no improvement to the download speed

Don't bump the thread, people do see it (131 views since this is posted) and if someone does have a idea of what to try next they will post it.

Could it be a limitation of your motherboard?

Are you using Windows 10?

If so is it updated to 1809 or newer?

Did you grab the driver for 1809?

Next thing I'd try is a wireless adapter, if the adapter gives you the correct speed then maybe try contacting Gigabyte as maybe it's an issue with the board.

At the very least they may be able to assist you better and if need be can do a RMA.
