Wired internet router 200mbps

Hello all,
please I have a question about home internet network. We have two desktop computers and one internet connection (modem). I am about to buy a router, which will provide internet to both computers by wire. Router should have 200+ mbps on internet - lan throughput because I have 260mb/s internet connection. I found lot of routers that have only 100 mbps nowadays which are focus mainly on WIFI. I dont know if switch is enough, because it seems switch is only LAN connection without internet. I am also confuse about speed of the Internet - Lan throughput, is it only 10/100/1000 options ? Please if somebody could give me advice about this stuff. Also If you could post some possible devices that I would buy and solve this problem. Have a nice day and Thank you in advanace !!!

If you have a router with 10/100/1000 on the WAN port and 10/100/1000 on the LAN ports you will generally be OK. To support your 250Mbit internet package you have to have 1000Mbit wired connections. If you look at www.smallnetbuilder.com -- they have a "Router charts" page and a "Router ranker" page. Most of them with reviews. You can see on the Router Charts page, most of the routers come close to gigabit LAN to WAN performance.

The "sweet spot" for performance/price is the "AC1900" range of routers. Look there.

Ethernet ports on routers are always 10/100/1000, but the actual throughput from WAN to LAN is limited by how fast the router's CPU is.

Unfortunately, there are still 10/100 ONLY routers sold. They are low end, but not ALL routers are gigabit ... And routers with gigabit lan ports sometimes have 100mbit WAN ports. Need to look at the specs closely.

Thank you all for answers. Made some search and sadly in our country the cheapest one cost around 90 $. Here is actually cheaper to buy wifi router than wire router.

Being a WIFI router isn't a bad thing. They sell MANY more of them than wired only. If you don't wan the WIFI then just disable it in the setup pages of the router.
