I recently wrecked my keyboard by spilling bourbon on it, and have had a shockingly difficult time finding a wired keyboard with a built-in USB port for the mouse. I went to Best Buy and 90% of their keyboards were wireless, and the couple that weren't did not appear to have a USB port. Can anyone recommend a model like this? Why is this such a rarity now?

i figure might as well get a good keyboard as unless you really unlucky it should last you a long time, and depending how much you use your PC, it will pay you back in comfort over time.

For a long time I used a Sidewinder X6 until its cable came lose from Keyboard. Microsoft don't make gaming keyboards or I would probably still be using them. I was very sad as I loved it so much. I didn't care that it wasn't mechanical, I liked the ability to detach the numberpad. Anyway, I bought a Blackwidow next and though it was a better keyboard in some ways, it didn't have backlighting and i really missed that for the entire time I used it.

That Keyboard died a few months ago now, I wouldn't buy a Razer keyboard again. The current one I...
Razor blackwidows have USB ports in them, as does http://pcpartpicker.com/product/QT6BD3/steelseries-keyboard-64145, and the Corsair K70

i think they uncommon as to run the extra USB slot many of the keyboards use 2 USB slots on the PC itself, and lots of new computers have up to 10+ USB slots so having an extra one on keyboard is a waste.

Surprised a logitech G910 didn't have a USB slot, I had a Blackwidow before and missed the slot for a few weeks after I swapped to G910

I will be gaming with it but I don't feel like I require something particularly large or high-performance. My old basic Dell keyboard (which had a USB port) served me fine for many years before I accidentally killed it. I'd prefer not to go far over $50 if possible.

The current one I have is top shelf but I bought it for a major discount as the store I bought it from was going out of business. I wouldn't have even looked at this KB otherwise (Logitech G910). IT has no USB slot like Razor one did but its backlighting makes up for it so much more. I am going short sighted and having lit keys means I don't need glasses on to see right keys
