With my Dell Optiplex 3020 Windows 10 desktop I use a wired mouse. Today it suddenly stopped working, although the LED lamp is still lit inside it. The USB Controller entry for the mouse in Device Manager reads: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed."
I tried reinstalling the driver in Device Manager, restarting the system, using other USB ports - but nothing worked. I have no access to another computer. Is it likely to be a hardware fault on the mouse? My wireless mouse works fine.
