Hello.

Mouse: Aceline CM-503BU
System: Windows 7

I've recently got a problem - my old mouse stopped scrolling for some reason. I thought it was just broken due to it being old, so I bought a new one (the one named above), but when I plugged it in, it turned out that it doesn't scroll either. It does respond when I PRESS the mouse wheel and then drag the page, but I get no response when I turn the mouse wheel.

I tried googling for a solution and tried adjusting settings through a control panel, but it didn't help. When I try to update mouse drivers, it says that the most recent versions of drivers is already installed. I tried deleting the drivers and reinstalling them, but it didn't help.

I would like to know what is causing the problem and how may I solve it.

Solution
Are you able to try the mice on another known working computer?

First step : Determine if the mice are physically broken or not. Two mice failing - unlikely...

Second step: Determine if other USB devices work when installed in the USB port(s) used by the mice? Determine if there is or is not some problem with the wired USB connection port.

Third: Look in Reliability Monitor/History for any error codes, warning, or informational events associated with the mouse (mice) failures.

Unfortunately, the problem may be related to Window 7. The OS is obsolete and unsupported. But there may have been some change that caused the mice to stop working.

Using an older version of the mouse driver may restore the scroll functions.
