I have this Yamaha RTX1100 and I am trying to use it to run my cable network. I have a fiber cable that has a modem that runs a patch to an iodata wireless currently. The IOdata doesn't run so well and I want a wired network anyway. Question 1 can this Yamaha fulfill this role if I replace the iodata with it?? The yamaha is a old style secure VPN router -- so it has no config options except via serial cable from terminal. I run Linux MINT 20. I've gotten through the basic config situation using the router, but I'm a bit lost as to how to finish it. I could use some help finalizing it before I go and install it.. So mostly that means IP tables etc.. it basically posts all the tables like an old PINE server or something UNIX.. If anyone can help thanks -- or where can I find help with this??

It is a Japanese Router. But config is in English and is similar to CISCO -- I can navigate the router basically -- I just dont really know how to set up the IP and other data properly.. So I don't think I need someone who is a specialist in this router, I think maybe I just need help with the DNS, IP and other choices .. It has more options than I know how to select for. Maybe I should post the config output, now that I think about it.. I'll look into doing that later, probably a dozen people on here could do this config in a second.... and from my question they think I need someone to fix a Japanese VPN haha...
