my controller was working perfectly fine, I bought it about a month ago, it hasn't suffered falls, hits, spills or anything.
suddenly, and I mean from one minute to another, it just turned off while in-game. Tried re-plugging it, tried the other USB ports, restarting the computer, other computer with no results.
the lights don't flash, I don't hear the sound of something being connected/disconnected, basically it's like nothing was connected at all.
the ports work with other things, so I think something must have burned inside of the controller because it is utterly dead.
someone knows why and if there's a solution, or will I have to get a new one?
thanks in advance.

Update 2: I think I found the problem, probably some wire welding or connection is faulty inside, because it works when I tweak the cable in different ways.
so anyone knows how to fix this???

Solution
Your best bet is to Warranty it.
Anything else, even opening it to see whats wrong, may void the warranty and leave you buying a new one when you shouldn't have to.

thanks for answering, I will go and claim the warranty.
but just in case, that problem should not be too serious right? because I tend to have really bad luck with controllers (this was my 4th one in less than 2 years), so if this happens again, can it be fixed?
