Wired Xbox 360 controllers are intentionally poorly built

This is my third purchase of an official microsoft wired xbox 360 controller, I have had it for about 2 months and already it's having the same issues my last two had. The LB button is completely screwed, the button itself seems to function properly yet the input is terribly inconsistent and janky. The reason I say microsoft does this intentionally is because my wireless controllers for my old xbox 360 still work perfectly after 6 years of use. It's been clear for a long time that microsoft doesn't like the idea of gaming on a pc, they don't get a cut from the sold games like they do for 360 and xbone games.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if I'm just incredibly unlucky.

Funny, cause the wired 360 controllers are actually some of the toughest ones out there.
Are you buying used ones or something?

Personally I use a wireless PS3 controller that's actually connected with a wire (because getting the bluetooth working regularly is annoying) and I treat it like complete garbage and it keeps working. (Have to use software to make the computer emulate it as a x360 controller for compatability reasons though.)

I have a wired 360 controller I bought a few years ago and it's still kicking, the analog sticks are a bit loose but everything still works, I actually retired it and got an xbox one controller for pc. The xbox one controller broke when it fell on the floor hitting the usb cable, so I replaced it with a wireless one (and dongle) and it's been good so far. Would actually recommend the xbox one controller were it not for the fact you can kill it with a 2 foot fall.

I've had 3 wired xbox controllers over the years. One I got rid of because the sticks were completely worn down, the other one actually had the same issue you mentioned with the LB button - but it lasted for 4 years. The third is still going strong. I'm pretty sure these things could survive a nuclear strike.

yeah i bought it brand new, i only use it for dark souls so it could perhaps only be that game. I would try testing it with other games but i cant think of any other game that uses that button as frequently
