wireless adapter not working help please!

I bought a wireless adapter ( pci e ) for my PC, I'm on windows 8.1 and it doesn't work at all, from what I've read a driver is supposed to install automatically when you install it but that never happened, please help me get it working ! Also I've tried 2 different wireless adapters and even got my motherboard replaced in case the motherboard was defective

You should have either received a DVD or CD-ROM from the manufacturer. They will have drivers on it - Windows doesn't always install them automatically....You should also check the manufacturer's website for the most current drivers.

What make and model wifi card?

I already installed the drivers from the cd, I did notice just now that the lights on either wifi card are not on at all :|

Check that its locked into the pcie slot. Using these things is usually pretty straight forward.

In Control Panel, Device Manager can you see it under network devices? Is it working properly? Are its drivers up to date?

I just reinstalled the drivers from the CD provided, and I do not see it in device manager, it is not working at all

OK. If its properly in the pcie slot and the slot is clean then you've got a dead card.

Seems improbable though, unless I bought 2 dead cards

Have you tried the card in another computer?

I did once and it just gave it a BSOD, although I'm waiting for my brother to build his PC so ican try them in his, currently that can't help me though

So in another PC, your card made it BSoD?

Then RMA it. Maybe try a different wifi card eg Asus N53
