Wireless adapter quality fluctuating.

I recently had to hook up a Netgear adapter as a result of an internal wireless card malfunctioning.

It's certainly sub-par quality compared to anything else I've used, but my internet speed randomly plummets to a quarter of what it usually is and I don't know why. I usually notice this when downloading something.

My adapter is next to my speakers, if that has anything to do with it.

Solution
More info:
Using an A6210 Netgear adapter.
Usually run about 3.0 MBs with it.
Drops to about 400 KBs every 30 seconds or so, and stays there for no more than a minute.

Lots of things can interfere with wifi. I had a customer who couldn't get a good signal 30 feet away in another room, but I had no issues in a Chiropractic office with a lead lined Xray room. You just don't know til you try. Is it a laptop? If not, you could try a wifi card that goes in the pci or pcie slot of your desktop.

Thanks for replying, and yeah, it's a desktop. I had fine wifi before I got the case switched out and the GPU replaced. After that I had to connect the adapter I have now to get any signal. Something must have gone wrong with the wireless card when switching over all the hardware to the new case I guess.

I want to eventually just ethernet straight to the router once I figure out how I can not run the cable through my whole house lol. I just need a temporary solution to make this adapter a bit better, but I will try moving it and moving some things around it and see what works.
