Recently I switcted from my gaming laptop to a desktop computer. Pulling a cable to my room is not possible so I need to get a wifi adapter that is as good or better than my laptop's internal one so I can continue to play online games without high pings or disconnections.

This is my laptops wifi component for comparison: Intel® Wireless-AC 9560

Solution
I didn't know these existed. But I only have one power socket in my room and to my research these dont work well with multi plug sockets
OBVIOUSLY I had the wrong link in the paste buffer when I posted that ... I fixed the original post and here is the updated link -- https://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-Powerline-Pass-Through-TL-PA9020P-KIT/dp/B01H74VKZU/
Correct you don't want to use them with a power strip. But you can see the one I intended to post, does have a pass through power capability.

I would recommend you try powerline network adapters. They can provide a wired connection without pulling an ethernet cable all the way from the router.
Something like this -- https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/coolers/cpu-air-coolers/hyper-212-rgb-black-edition/
Those will provide 200Mbit in most situations.
