Currently I have a tp link tl wn821n 11n wireless adapter , I recently got a new router with a 5G wifi option and a regular (2.4) option (I'm guessing?). The 2.4 Option is giving me like .4mbps and my phone is on the 5G and is getting 20.6 I'm assuming this adapter is too old or out of date to get the AC 5 GHZ signal? Is there a reason it is going so slow? Is there any way to make my tp link pick up the 5G? I have the latest driver downloaded for it as well.
If not, what are some cheap (<$50) USB wireless adapters?
Thanks in advance.

That wireless adapter doesn't seem to support 5GHz

what do you mean "my pc isnt compatible"? Do you just mean the adapter?
thanks for the suggestion!
With that asus adapter you have no doubt it would recieve the signal?

yes that is what i meant. the asus adapter is designed for 2.4 ANDDDDDD 5ghz it shoudl without a doubt connect to it

that adapter looks good too. i picked one off of his 50$ budget trying to get the most powerful one, but a budget option could be good for him if hes trying to save some money.
