Wireless adapter

My old pc doesn't have wifi so I need a wireless adapter. An employee at best buy told me to get something with dual band so it wouldn't cut out.

This laptop I have currently is a cheap acer aspire one and it cuts out constantly, my ping will jump to 1-2000 playing wow for no reason all the time so I want something good. I'm about 50 feet from the router and on the 2nd floor.

It's a 7 year old windows xp (sp3), 2 gigs ram, amd athlon x2 4200, pci or usb is fine. Don't want to spend more than 50. Thanks for your time.

I have three of these in three different desktops and all work fine. In use for about a year. They should be fine in your laptop too.

On an older XP laptop I have a Linksys PCMCIA card - works fine.

Yeah, a USB adapter will work fine if you get a decent one. Otherwise, you could always tear open your laptop and replace the internal wireless card...
